Giving back is the best we old timers can do!
Our story
From the time I was a little boy I helped my mom with her gardens. She would have her eight kids do different chores, my job was to take baskets of fresh vegetables to all our neighbors. A few days later I was first to the door when those neighbors kids would deliver a casserole or other dish for us to eat made from those veggies. About 6 month ago we leased a one Acer 100 year old farm house in Joplin Arkansas. From the first day I moved in I knew what I wanted to do, share all I have learned in the last 60 years about growing good healthy food. The Chicken Ranch teaching center was born. My plan is to teach local young children the joys that can come from spending time in the garden and then turning what you grow into the mana heaven has given us in this garden. Aquaponics, raisedbed growing, wild foraging, cooking and having fun while doing all of that. I have left you a little video of what we are up to. I hope you will support us by sending your prayers our way. Thank you Gardener Ziggy
What the weekend would mean to us
A video of the owner putting a chicken in his car caught my attention and when I heard the rest of the story I was completely impressed with what they had gone on to do. I'm 70 and live on my social security and have never in my life charged for the food I grow or the sharing I do. God has blessed me with a lot in my life and a weekend at the ranch would be one heck of a blessing.
