The Schotanus Family
Heartbreak to Home and Hearts Full
Our story
I miscarried 2 boys 7 months apart in 2016. 2017 I helped lead a team to Uganda where our bus driver, Emmanuel who I had just met told me that I would have a baby in my arms in one year. He told me I would get pregnant in November and I wouldn’t have a cesarean and many details that all happened as He said. He prayed for a boy and a girl. Judah Zane came exactly one year later and Selah Joy 2 years after that. My dad unexpectedly passed away 9 days before she was born. Almost 2 years later I found myself with mild depression from not letting myself fully grieve that loss. I got help and then started praying about a third child as my husband desired one. A stranger asked me if I had fear about a third which I did. He prayed and I felt complete peace and such joy when I got pregnant the next month with Elijah. I later had a tear where my placenta detached from my uterus and had to be on bed rest. While the Lord knit my womb back together I learned to finger knit his baby blanket and to have complete rest and trust in Him! It’s been 3 years since Elijah Cole was born and we are such a grateful and happy family of 5! So grateful to the Lord and support of our family and dear friends.
What the weekend would mean to us
A weekend at the ranch would mean so much to us. Our 15 year wedding anniversary is in October and it would be the perfect exhale for our family. I stay busy homeschooling the kids and it would be fun for all of us. Thank you for your vote!
