Our story
Hi! We're Nick and Kate, Norah (11), Zoey (9), Gracelynn (7) & Willa (2), we have 4 cats, 2 dogs, 6 acres and a rebuilt house we're finally getting settled back into! Our family life has a little chaos, a LOT of laundry and an occasional dance party to keep us going. Three years ago we had a house fire and we went through a season you can't plan for. After 2 years of temporary housing we're finally back home and Psalm 116:7 has been our anchor - "Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you." The Hebrew word for rest includes a safe place, a home, and we are feeling surrounded by the safety of being home while trusting that the Lord is good even through hard seasons. Our current season involves the hurdle that came from rebuilding a home that cost more than insurance covered. The ongoing invitation from a good God to trust Him has been equal parts challenging and comforting. What a peace we have knowing the Creator of the universe has us in His hands!
What the weekend would mean to us
With a family of 6, a weekend away is no small thing! There would be frenzied packing followed by more animal cuddling than my girls can imagine and most of all, space to continue building our sense of belonging in this precious family we've been given. After all the rebuilding & readjusting, the chance to step away & enjoy being together would be life-giving. And the $5,000 would be an incredible blessing to help us pay down our mortgage.
